If you think you might, will or do need help with shopping and collecting medication

please, telephone Christina Lees who

will be coordinating the volunteers on 07422 881 448

Foston’s Community Aid Network are working in conjunction with Communities and Volunteer Coordination Cell (CVC) and the County Emergency Centre (CEC). Among other things they are currently working on a new protocol for helpers, delivering shopping and medication, to vulnerable residents.

Unfortunately the coop cannot take telephone orders. So we are looking at various ways for helpers to take on the role of Personal Shopper for the vulnerable and self-isolating. More information to follow in due course.

The Long Bennington's dispensary is no longer giving residents over 70 years old medication for 3 months. That system was started and ended within the first week.

New opening times for Long Bennington surgery's dispensary

10am to 1pn and 3pm to 5pm.

New opening times for the Coop in Long Bennington 7am to 8pm.

The local Morrison's, Salisbury's and Asda stores have all got the same opening times 8am to 8pm and Sundays remain the same 10am to 4pm

.

If you think you might need, will need or do need help please, telephone or text Christina Lees on 0772 554 1630, who will be coordinating the vast army of amazing Foston volunteers (This is a dedicated help line number for Foston)

We also have helpers willing and able to walk your dog/dogs and happy to have friendly a natter over the phone

Quick reminder, when making or receiving deliveries to or from any resident’s household, please keep at least 2 metres away from the householder at all times. Leave the package on the door step, ring the bell and step back 2 metres. Do not make any sort of physical contact and do not go into the householder’s home. When delivering you will need to make sure the resident picks up the package and takes it indoors. Advise them to leave the package alone for at least an hour. If they touch the package to bring it in doors you will need to advise them to wash their hands. Above all keep washing your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds.
